dreaming of the dress...

The dress.  Ohhhh THE dress!  You envision it from the time you start playing with Barbie dolls.  Except the vision changes from taffeta, puff sleeves, and ruffles to lace, strapless, and A-line.

That's a lot of dress!  Princess Diana and Charles were married in 1981, about a week before I was born.  Was I destined for a ball gown?  I think not.

When I started searching the web for a modern vision of my wedding dress, I was overwhelmed. There are so many awesome designers and styles to choose from....I would seriously love some costume changes on the big day, but who can afford that!?  So this weekend I go on the search for THE dress, with help from my two lovely NYC ladies!  I'm really looking forward to it, but am also super nervous.  So much pressure.  :)

I really love the whimsicality of Watters dresses, the elegant nature of Augusta Jones's design, and the detail in Alvina Valenta.  Here are a few photos of my inspiration:

I won't be heading down the 5th avenue aisle for this one - we will be hitting up stores boasting discount and sample designer gowns.  Wish me luck!
